Creating art for iREAD, a national summer reading program developed by librarians and the Illinois Library Association, I took inspiration from some of my favorite author/illustrators from childhood (and from my days working in the Cambridge Public Library Children’s Room) – Faith Ringgold, Ezra Jack Keats, Leo Lionni, Crockett Johnson.
